Masters in Public Health
Dean's Greeting
Dear Friend -
Health reform, new infectious agents, food safety, climate change, health disparities, chronic disease and more- it's always an incredibly dynamic time in the field of public health. Every day, our faculty is engaged in our country's critically important public health conversation, in turn providing cutting edge public health experience for our students. Our innovative research informs policymakers - contributing to substantive changes in state and national healthcare policies governing healthy food, vaccinations, workplace safety, chronic disease prevention, housing standards and much more. Building on our tradition of a "school without walls", our Sacramento Executive MPH Program is designed to address practical problems in California, across the country, and around the world.
The connection between a socially-diverse community, inclusive of multiple perspectives and an intellectual climate that is flexible, creative, and open to change, lies at the heart of the our unique strengths. We exemplify those strengths through the broad range of hands-on opportunities for students and faculty, coupled with the rigor of an incredibly high quality academic environment. Our unique community-collaborative approach fosters leadership. Students apply what they learn in the classroom to solve problems in today's complex public health environment.
Over the past several years, our school has grown exponentially and we are now one of the fastest-growing Schools of Public Health in the country. Since the doors opened two years ago, our Sacramento campus has garnered tremendous community support - and our students have given generously of their time and talents to the community.
As world events unfold, public health continually responds, demanding the most of your problem-solving skills as well as your tenacity. Success in public health goes beyond impacting lives - it transforms them. The faculty of Drexel University's School of Public Health looks forward to preparing you for the challenging and rewarding road ahead. Together, we can foster scientific discovery that is truly shaped by a mission of improving the health of the public.
Cordially,
Marla J. Gold, M.D.
