Drexel offers
a variety of fellowships, scholarships, and grants that are only available
in Sacramento, enhancing the region's existing leadership initiatives and
supporting working professionals as they advance their careers.
The following academic tuition awards are not based on financial need and
are only available to new first-time Drexel graduate students enrolling
in September 2009 or later. The awards are applicable only to tuition for graduate
programs taught at our Sacramento Graduate Center, not to online programs or
those taught in Philadelphia. Unless otherwise noted, these awards cannot be
combined.
Everyone who is admitted to any Drexel graduate program in
Sacramento is automatically considered for a Leadership Fellowship. It
is awarded at the time of admission on the basis of the student's
academic record. Leadership Fellowships typically vary between 15 to
40 percent of tuition, and are renewed quarterly as long as the student
maintains a minimum GPA. Drexel University has set aside $10 million
to fund this unique program.
These fellowships provide 15 percent tuition support for anyone
working at least 20 hours per week in a government or nonprofit
agency. They recognize the critical importance of our society's
infrastructure to the region's quality of life, and honor Drexel's late
President Papadakis and his passion for civic engagement.
To help prevent "brain drain" from the region, Drexel cuts in half the
tuition for all Sacramento programs for anyone who is unemployed
after having been laid off from full-time employment.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Partnering with the federal government, Drexel University provides
100 percent free tuition to eligible military personnel or veterans
who have served in the U.S. armed forces for 36 months after September 11,
2001. Eligible military personnel will also receive a substantial living stipend
from the government while they study. This program applies to any Drexel
program anywhere — in Sacramento, Philadelphia, or online. Visit the Student
Resource Center's Yellow
Ribbon Program webpage for details.
