MS Human Resource Development

Beginning September 2009

Free to Develop High Value Human Capital

Traditional human resource degrees focus on the management of employees. Drexel takes a different tack. We offer one of the only MS in Human Resource Development programs in the nation that emphasizes a true human resources development curriculum.

Our graduates are in high demand as corporations and organizations recognize employee development and retention as a key strategic advantage. More and more, progressive companies treat human capital development as part of a broader sustainable business strategy.

The Drexel Difference

Drexel's Master's Degree in Human Resource Development is unique in that it includes an experiential component.

Students are required to participate in a 20-week, part-time co-op that provides hands-on experience in the field of human resource development. Students work closely with our Steinbright Career Development Center to identify co-op opportunities.

In coursework and the co-op, you will learn to:

  • Promote maximum employee performance in any organization
  • Use cutting-edge training technologies
  • Apply current research and best practices
  • Master software applications and database management systems

Accelerate Your Career

Drexel's MS in Human Resource Development program prepares graduates to become "strategic partners" to CEOs or CEOs themselves.

The program is ideal for training and development professionals, career changers, managers and executives who want to better develop their employees, and anyone involved in assessing and responding to the development needs of employees and their organization.

Three areas of concentrations allow you to target specific career goals:

  • Human Resource Development in Business Settings
  • Human Resource Development in Educational Settings
  • Human Resource Development in Global Settings

All students enroll in the MS in Human Resource Development as part of a cohort, taking all courses together allowing interaction and networking opportunities among peers, faculty and industry guest speakers.
