MS Human Resource Development
Dr. Salvatore Falletta is an Associate Professor and serves as the Director for the Human Resource Development (HRD) program at Drexel University. He advises and teaches graduate students in HRD and the Doctoral program (Ed.D.) at Drexel's Center for Graduate Studies in Sacramento, CA; he also teaches courses online for the MS in HRD program. In collaboration with his colleagues at Drexel, Dr. Falletta is establishing an evidence-based HRD research institute and concomitant agenda for the university.
Dr. Falletta has over 20 years experience in human resources, training and learning, human performance technology and improvement, and organization development. In addition to Drexel, he is Founder and President of Leadersphere -- an "HR intelligence" consulting firm that specializes in employee and organizational surveys, change readiness assessments, 360 degree feedback systems, measurement and evaluation processes, HRD strategy, and employee engagement consulting. Prior to Drexel and Leadersphere, Dr. Falletta was Vice President and Chief HR Officer at Atmel Corporation (during which he was one of the youngest chief HR officers in a Fortune 1000 firm in the country), and has held senior management and consulting positions in human resources at several best-in- class companies, including Nortel Networks, Alltel, Intel Corporation, SAP AG, and Sun Microsystems respectively. While at Intel, Dr. Falletta managed the global employee survey program, performed leadership development needs assessments and organizational behavior research studies, and participated in corporate HR strategy efforts. He also led the training measurement and evaluation function at Nortel Network's Technical Education Centers. Prior to his corporate career, Dr. Falletta was an administrator at Indiana State University and served over 10 years in the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. Falletta is an accomplished speaker, researcher, and author. He frequently presents at national and international conferences and seminars, and has authored or co-authored numerous books, book chapters, and articles. His current research interests include the concept of HR intelligence (i.e., HR research and analytics practices), HRD assessment, measurement, and evaluation models and taxonomies, training transfer strategies, organizational diagnostic models, web-based employee and organizational survey methods, and computational modeling of behavior in organizations.
Dr. Falletta holds a BA in Psychology from Eastern Washington University, an MPA with a specialty in HR and OD from Indiana State University, and a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) with a specialization in Human Resource Development from North Carolina State University. He also studied epistemology, science, and reason at Oxford University, and has received global HR certification (GPHR) through the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Dr. Falletta is an active member of several professional associations including the Academy of Human Resource Development, Academy of Management, American Society for Training and Development, HR Planning Society, Human Capital Institute, International Society for Performance Improvement, SHRM, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
