Walter W. Straub

Walter Straub is a co-founder of Rainbow Technologies, Inc., a computer and information security company. Mr. Straub led Rainbow's initial public offering in 1987 and secondary offering in 1991. He was Chairman of the Board, CEO and President of Rainbow from 1984 until March 2004, when Rainbow merged with SafeNet, Inc., a public information security company.
He became a Director of SafeNet, Inc. and was named Chairman of the Board and CEO of SafeNet in 2006. SafeNet, Inc was sold to a private equity group in 2007.
From 1989 to 2008, he has served as a director of CAM Commerce Solutions, Inc., a public company providing commerce solutions for traditional and web retailers. In 2008, CAM was sold to a private equity group.
Mr. Straub is Chairman of the Board of Vangard Voice Systems, a developer of voice software tools for mobile workforce and smartphone applications. In 1993, Mr. Straub was named Orange County, CA Technology Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Straub received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in finance from Drexel University. From May 1993 to May 2008, Mr. Straub was a member of the Board of Trustees of Drexel University. Mr. Straub serves on the Concordia University President's Advisory Council.
