Drexel is the nation's 14th largest private university and ranked third among national universities in the most recent U.S. News & World Report for schools "making the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics and faculty."
Balancing Theory & Practice
Drexel University prides itself on applied education and research.
Undergraduate students are taught by faculty who are not only teachers but highly experienced professionals in their field, and experiential, hands-on education is central to Drexel's undergraduate degree programs. Drexel's renowned Co-op program is a central feature of our experiential approach to teaching and learning.
Drexel Co-op is based on paid employment in practical, major-related positions consistent with the interests and abilities of participating students. The benefits are obvious-during their time at Drexel University Sacramento, a student's co-op experience enables her to graduate having already built a professional network, and co-op students typically receive higher starting salaries than their counterparts from other schools.
Through the co-op program:
- Students choose from more than 1,500 employers in 41 states (including the Sacramento region, California, and other Western states) and 45 international locations, or conduct an independent search.
- The average six-month co-op salary is $15,808.
- Co-op students are entrusted with projects vital to the day-to-day functioning of the workplace.
- Students obtain positions with major corporations such as GlaxoSmithKline, Unisys Corporation, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, Comcast, and QVC, Inc.

Graduate students will work with faculty who are world-renowned scholars and who bring their cutting edge ideas to the classroom in a way that perfectly balances theory and practice. We continually enhance our courses with community-based projects, workshops hosted by local business leaders, and hands-on work experience. Our blended approach complements our students' professional, goal-oriented way of life.

Beginning in the fall of 2013, Drexel University Sacramento will offer its first fulltime undergraduate program — a bachelor's degree completion program in Business Administration. Designed for students who already have completed significant, relevant coursework in a community college, the BS in Business Administration features one co-op opportunity and a rigorous curriculum in two majors - marketing and business law.
Drexel University Sacramento is rapidly expanding and we are frequently adding new graduate programs. Please check back periodically for more information on upcoming program additions.
