Awards and Recognition

Drexel University Sacramento has demonstrated its commitment to the community, and has been honored for the energy with which our students, faculty and staff have become engaged.

National Recognition

For nearly a decade, Drexel has been ranked in the category of Best National Universities in "America's Best Colleges" by U.S News & World Report. The University placed 97th overall in the 2014 rankings, the sixth straight time Drexel has been in the top 100.

Drexel also ranked seventh among national universities in the U.S. News list of "Up-and-Comers," those schools most often cited by university administrators nationwide as making "the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, faculty, student life, campus, or facilities." Drexel has been in the top 10 each of the five years this list has been published.

Drexel and the University of Pennsylvania are the only Philadelphia universities ranked in the top 100 by U.S. News, joined by Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh across Pennsylvania.

Making a Positive Impact on our Community

In May 2011, the California Assembly (through member Roger Dickinson) honored Drexel on its upcoming Commencement. Among other things, the Resolution thanked Drexel for "demonstrating that civic leadership is an essential part of a superior graduate education" and pointed to the "outstanding opportunities that [Drexel] will provide to its students well into the future."

In May 2010, our students were honored with the Board of Supervisors for Sacramento County Resolution [PDF] commending them for "reaching out and investing in their communities" and thanking them for their civic engagement and leadership.

In April 2010, a City of Sacramento Resolution [PDF] recognized our LeBow College of Business "for the commitment the College and the University have made to bringing excellence in education and service to this region."

In April 2011, Drexel was recognized as a "truly extraordinary employer" by the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA) for "provid[ing] exceptional benefits, programs, training and workplaces that promote employee health, safety, advancement, diversity and security."

Last year, both the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce recognized Drexel for its "commitment to leadership and to our underserved communities."

These public accolades about Drexel's leadership in Sacramento are in addition to those that have been given to the academic programs Drexel is offering at its Graduate Center.
