Drexel University's Center for Graduate Studies in Sacramento has demonstrated its commitment to the community, and has been honored for the energy with which our students, faculty and staff have become engaged.
Making a Positive Impact on our Community
In May 2011, the California Assembly (through member Roger Dickinson) honored Drexel on its upcoming Commencement. Among other things, the Resolution thanked Drexel for "demonstrating that civic leadership is an essential part of a superior graduate education" and pointed to the "outstanding opportunities that [Drexel] will provide to its students well into the future."
In May 2010, our students were honored with the Board of Supervisors for Sacramento County Resolution [PDF] commending them for "reaching out and investing in their communities" and thanking them for their civic engagement and leadership.
In April 2010, a City of Sacramento Resolution [PDF] recognized our LeBow College of Business "for the commitment the College and the University have made to bringing excellence in education and service to this region."
In April 2011, Drexel was recognized as a "truly extraordinary employer" by the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA) for "provid[ing] exceptional benefits, programs, training and workplaces that promote employee health, safety, advancement, diversity and security."
Last year, both the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce recognized Drexel for its "commitment to leadership and to our underserved communities."
These public accolades about Drexel's leadership in Sacramento are in addition to those that have been given to the academic programs Drexel is offering at its Graduate Center.
National Recognition
Top 100 National Universities
For the eighth consecutive year, Drexel has been ranked in the category of Best National Universities in "America's Best Colleges" by U.S.News & World Report. The University placed 88th overall in the 2011 rankings, the fourth consecutive year that Drexel has reached the top 100.
Schools to Watch
Drexel ranked sixth among national universities in the 2011 U.S. News list of the nation's top "up-and-coming schools." The magazine asked university administrators nationwide to name schools that have demonstrated "the most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, students, campus, or facilities." Drexel has been in the top 10 all four years in which this list has been published.
Producing the Most Successful Business Leaders
Newsweek and The Daily Beast ranked Drexel among the top 25 universities that have produced the most number of successful business leaders that have gone on to become CEOs of Fortune 100 companies.
